ABSTRACT
Plasmocytes in peripheral blood appear randomly in some diseases. Just a few diseases provoke plasmocytosis systematically in peripheral blood. We report four cases of dengue (two classic, one hemorrhagic and one of shock), in patients from 6 to 15 years old that presented with plasmocytosis after the third day of fever. As the period of worsening of the symptoms is the same as when laboratory exams have a high probability of failing to confirm the right diagnosis, serum exams fail in helping for early diagnosis, and the systematic search for plasmocytes should routinely be instituted in the hemograms of patients suspected of having dengue.
