Background:
The successful healing of grafts is crucial in several plastic surgeries and platelet-rich plasma (PRP), which is a product used to stimulate wound healing, can helpin grafts surgery. Objective:
This study aimed to determine how best to apply the productin surgeries for skin grafts and evaluate their results. Methods:
There were histological studies on skin grafts with PRP liquid, PRP gel and without PRP in rabbits, to evaluate the healing of grafts, severity of collagen and inflammatory response and the quantification of fibroblasts and macrophages. Results:
There was an increase of 31.6% of fibroblasts(p = 0.045) and 57% macrophages (p = 0.046) and increased production of collagen andinflammatory response with the use of PRP. The grafts that used PRP in the liquid forms howed better results than the other groups. Conclusion:
PRP enhances the healing of skin grafts and their use in the liquid form, injected under the wound, is easier and gets better results than in gel form.
