Aumento horizontal com osso xenógeno em bloco: alternativa viável ao uso do ósseo autógeno / Horizontal augmentation with xenogenic bone: a viable alternative to autogenous bone

RESUMO

Uma nova apresentação do osso xenógeno está disponível na forma de bloco para reconstruções ósseas dos rebordos alveolares. A respeito dessa técnica, pesquisas têm demonstrado bons resultados clínicos, como a integração do enxerto, a instalação dos implantes e a manutenção dos tecidos peri-implantares. Entre os estudos analisados, o enxerto ósseo xenógeno mineral em bloco mostra-se uma alternativa viável para a reconstrução horizontal dos rebordos alveolares, porém, um período de reparo maior deve ser respeitado. Diante das vantagens desse material, o objetivo desta revisão da literatura é avaliar e discutir os resultados encontrados com esse biomaterial para o aumento ósseo horizontal.

ABSTRACT

New presentation of xenogenic graft is available in block form for bone reconstruction at alveolar ridges. Research has demonstrated good clinical results such as graft integration, implant installation, and maintenance of peri-implant tissues. Among the studies reviewed, the xenogenic bone graft mineral block appears to be a viable alternative for horizontal reconstruction of alveolar ridges, but an extended healing period must be respected. Given the advantages of this material, the purpose of this review is to evaluate and discuss the results with this biomaterial for horizontal bone augmentation.
