Nuevo reto médico: La coinfección SIDA-Tuberculosis

RESUMEN

Se realiza una revisión bibliográfica del tema de la coinfección SIDA/tuberculosis, sobre el impacto que ha tenido epidemiológicamente esta asociación, así como las condiciones patogénicas que facilitan el proceso, los rasgos de la infección tuberculosa en los casos de SIDA, así como la profilaxis de la tuberculosis en los pacientes VIH positivos y el tratamiento de los coinfectados con algunas consideraciones sobre la quimiorresistencia a los fármacos antituberculosos.

ABSTRACT

A bibliographic review is made on the topic of AIDS/tuberculosis coinfection, the epidemiological impact of this association, the pathogenic conditions facilitating this process, the characteristics of tuberculosis infection in AIDS patients, as well as on the prophylaxis of tuberculosis in HIV positive patients and the treatment of those coinfected. Some considerations are made on the chemoresistance to antituberculosis drugs.
