RESUMO

Este trabalho, um estudo bibliográfico em história da arte e estudos do imaginário, apresenta leiituras de visualidades artísticas produzidas pelo pintor brasileiro contemporâneo, Walmor Corrêa. Os trabalhos são observados no contexto da pintura e desenho tradicional (arte acadêmica, ilustração), desenolvendo o relacionamento entre arte e natureza e entre arte e imaginário científico. Os estudos e séries incluem a noção rpresentacional da natureza, entre um padrão de representação iconográfica - acadêmica, científica e documental - e um imaginário teratológico (imaginário popular). Corrêa restaura para o presente a visão naturalística, mas ele oferece um outro ponto de vista, com a intenção de propor simulacros para nosso próprio mundo. Neste artigo, o tema do imaginário artístico contemporâneo sustenta uma reflexão acerca da emergência destas imagens na arte contemporânea. Nós analisamos as relações desta estética com as regras e padrões da produção de arte em nosso tempo.

ABSTRACT

This work, a bibliographical study in art history and imaginary studies presents visualities readers of artworks produced by the brazilian contemporary painter, Walmor Corrêa. The artworks are observed in a context of the traditional painting and drawning (academic art, ilustration), development the relationship between art and nature and between art and scientific imaginary. The studies and series including the representational notion of the nature, between a pattern of iconographic representation - academic, scientific and documental - and a teratological imagery (popular imaginary). Corrêa restores for the present the naturalistic view but he presents a other point of view, with a intention to propose simulacros to our own world. In this article, the theme of artistic contemporary imaginary supports a reflection about the emergence of this images incontemporary art. We analyze the relationships of this aesthetics with the rules and patterns of the art production in our time
