RESUMEN

El método CLASS (Custom Lingual Appliances Set-up Service - Servicio de montaje de brackets linguales o vestibulares individualizado) se basa en la realización de modelos set-up, la corrección de los mismos, la adaptación de un arco vestibular o lingual, el ligado de los brackets en el arco y el cementado de los brackets al modelo. La interfase entre la base de los brackets y los dientes del modelo se rellena con composite y esta base individualizada nos permite adaptar la prescripción de los brackets a las características del caso. Este método ha demostrado ser muy efectivo, pero los resultados obtenidos dependen de la experiencia y entrenamiento de los técnicos. El Set-up Model Maker (SUM) y el Occlusal Plane Reference (OPR), diseñados por el Dr. Pablo Echarri y el ingeniero Claus Schendell, facilitan esta técnica, lo que disminuye el tiempo de trabajo y optimiza el resultado obtenido. Además el OPR permite el reposicionamiento de los brackets con la misma prescripción, o modificándola, en cualquier etapa del tratamiento, si esto fuera necesario

ABSTRACT

CLASS method (Custom Lingual/labial Appliances Set-up Service) is based on the fabrication and correction of set-up models, the adaptation of an ideal labial or lingual arch wire, the brackets ligation in the arch the wire, and the brackets base and the teeth of the model is filled with composite, and this customized base allows us to adapt the prescription of the brackets to the characteristics of the case. This method has proved to be very effective, but the obtained results depend on the experience and training of the thecnician who fabricates the set-up model. The protocol that is described in this article allows us to achieve more reproducible and more precise results, and at the same time they don´t depend so much on the technician´s skill. The Set-up Model Maker (SUM) and the Occlusal Plane Reference (OPR), designed by Pablo Echarri and the engineer Claus Schendell, make this technique easier, thus reducing the working time and optimizing the obtained result. Furthermore, the OPR admits the repositioning of the brackets with the same prescription, or its modification, at any stage of the treatment, if necessary
