RESUMEN
Se realizó un estudio descriptivo, longitudinal y prospectivo de 55 ojos de igual número de pacientes, operados de pterigión, desde octubre de 2012 hasta marzo de 2014, en el Centro Oftalmológico del Hospital General Docente "Juan Bruno Zayas Alfonso" de Santiago de Cuba mediante la autoplastia conjuntival. En la serie predominaron las féminas de 30-39 años (27,3 %), el grado III de la enfermedad 45,6 %) y el hematoma como complicación más frecuente (34,6 %). Esta técnica ha sido empleada con éxito en los últimos años, es sencilla y su índice de recidiva es mínimo.
ABSTRACT
A descriptive, longitudinal and prospective study of 55 eyes with the same number of patients, operated of pterygium was carried out from October, 2012 to March, 2014, in the Ophthalmological Center from "Juan Bruno Zayas Alfonso" Teaching General Hospital in Santiago de Cuba by means of the conjunctival autoplasty. The female women with 30-39 years (27.3%), degree III of the disease (45.6%) and the hematoma as the most frequent complication (34.6%) prevailed in the series. This technique has been used with success in the last years, it is simple and its relapse index is minimum.
