Objective:
To present the case of a patient who underwentsurgical reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL)associated with the technique of platelet rich plasma (PRP).Material andMethods:
The patient underwent 48physiotherapy sessions, held twice a week, based onbiomechanical and sensorimotor recovery. Results:
At theend of the first month of treatment, the patient beganproprioceptive exercises of the lower limbs with totaldischarge weight on the affected knee. Three monthspostoperatively, the patient could jump with one-leg supportand began plyometric training on grass. Six months afterreconstruction, the patient was discharged from physicaltherapy presenting active ROM in knee flexion of 145° to theright leg, muscle strength grade V in the right thigh musclegroups and recreational activity with return to football. Conclusion:
The combination of the PRP technique potentiatedthe process of rehabilitation in ACL reconstruction.
