Introduction:
Th e burns attack the skin, that reacts triggering the repair tissue aiming to reconstruct the injured skin layers. The microcurrent increases the fl ow of endogenous current, enablingthe traumatized area recover its capacitance, which reduces the resistance of the injured tissue and provides benefits to healing tissue. Materials andmethods:
Controlled clinical study. The population included burned patients of an outpatient hospital ambulatory, which were divided into control and experimental groups. Patientsin the experimental group received the application of microcurrentfor 12 sessions. Results:
Participated 12 patients, each group of 6 subjects. Ages ranged from 26 to 49 years old. Most participants werefemale (58.3%). The experimental group showed greater reductionin area burned in less time, reduction of pain and greater gain inbody weight during treatment. Conclusion:
Microcurrent treatment optimized the healing with respect to speed, as well as in reducing pain and aid to the body functions by body weight gain.
