An experimental rat model of established peritonitis was used to test the effect of intraperitoneal injection of platelet rich plasma (PRP) on blood and peritoneal fluid culture positivity and survival rates. Thirty animals divided into two groups of 15 each were studied. The first group served as control while animals in the second group received intraperitoneal injection of PRP.
