The unique doctoral education model in the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory / 中华医学教育探索杂志

ABSTRACT

Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory began its doctoral program in 1999, but its training model is very distinctive and has been emulated by many institutes. Its features are mainly embodied in the following aspectsthe aim of cultivating outstanding talent, the idea of lifelong learning, the system of“two-tier”mentoring program, the security measure of tuition paid in full by the school and the free and open environment. To learn from those advanced training experience, great efforts should be made in our doctoral cultivation mode in the aspects of enrollment system, education resources allocation method, and the training objective and emphasis.
