ABSTRACT

Objective:

To study the relationship between junior middle school students' diathesis and life stress with mental health.

Methods:

259 junior middle school students were administrated General Health Questionnaire(GHQ-12), General Self-Efficacy Scale(GSES), Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire, and Adolescent Self-Rating Life Events Check List(ASLEC).

Results:

(1) Self-efficacy and positive coping styles were positively correlated with mental health,whereas negative coping styles and life stress were negatively correlated with mental health. (2) Self-efficacy, coping styles and life stress directly affect students' mental health.

Conclusion:

Diathesis and life stress jointly affect students' mental health.
