Conclusions Bacterial biofilm formation on the surface of the catheter is an important pathogenetic factor,which contributes to the recurrence and antibiotic resistance of urinary tract infection. Shortening the period of catheter dwelling and using closed drainage remain the predominant prevention and treatment of urinary tract infection.
