Cryopreserved allogenic osteochondral pillars transplantation can repair small full-thickness articular cartilage defects. The chondrocytes are alive in short time, and they can secret cartilage matrix without obvious rejection. It has similar efficacy in histology with autogenic osteochondral pillar transplantation.
