ABSTRACT
Human body often contacts with different kinds of pathogens, but these pathogens do not result in disease due to innate immunity. The adaptive immunity is able to discriminate self and non-self pathogen and further maintain immunological health and appropriate response through peripheral regulatory mechanism.Whether innate immune or adaptive immune, lack of control mechanism leads to autoimmunity and autoinflammation.Up to now, some studies demonstrated that autoimmunity and autoinflammation have many common characteristics in intraocular inflammation, but their mechanism relates to different molecular pathways.Hence, ophthalmologists have better understanding in the pathogenesis of uveitis.Herein,it is inferred from the basic mechanism of the activation of immunology pathway that regulation of innate and adaptive immunity might impact how autoinflammatory and autoimmune pathways contribute to disease progress in uveitis.
