ABSTRACT
OBJECTIVE:
To study the distribution law of Valsartan capsules in the ocular tissue of rabbit eyes after intragastri-cal administration.METHODS:
3 rabbits(6 eyes)were intragastrically administrated Valsartan solution,7.5 mg every time,twice a day,for 6 d. Rabbits were executed after last administration,and the cornea,iris,aqueous humor,lens,vitreous and retina tis-sues were collected. HPLC was used to determine the content of valsartan in each tissue.RESULTS:
Content of valsartan in retina, iris,cornea,aqueous humor,vitreous and lens were (4.274 ± 1.75),(2.233 ± 0.72),(0.871 ± 0.66),(0.713 ± 0.49),(0.177 ± 0.07),(0.083 ± 0.06)μg/g,respectively.CONCLUSIONS:
After multiple administrations,valsartan distributes unevenly in each tissue of eyes,showing highest distribution content in retina,followed by iris,and lowest content in lens and vitreous.
