ABSTRACT
In recent years, domestic and foreign studies have found that vitamin D deficiency is wide-spread in adults and children. Neonates and pregnant women are at high risk of vitamin D deficiency. Vitamin D deficiency during pregnancy is associated with adverse pregnancy outcomes, such as premature birth, limited fetal growth and also has an adverse impact on the development of neonatal nervous system and respiratory dis-ease susceptibility. This paper reviews the effects of vitamin D deficiency on neonates during pregnancy.
