Hippocampus metabolomic research on antidepressant mechanism of petroleum ether fraction of Bupleuri Radix by LC-MS in rats / 中草药

ABSTRACT

Objective The petroleum ether fraction of Bupleuri Radix has an antidepressant effect and this study aimed to explore the regulated mechanism of the petroleum ether fraction of Bupleuri Radix based on hippocampus metabolic profiles. Methods Hippocampus metabolic profiles were obtained by UHPLC-Q Exactive Orbitrap-MS. Results The results demonstrated that the petroleum ether fraction of Bupleuri Radix had an antidepressant effect by regulating amino acid metabolism and energy metabolism, while it had no significant effect on hippocampus metabolic profiles of healthy rats. Conclusion The obtained results provide a reference for potential molecular mechanism of antidepressant effect of the petroleum ether fraction of Bupleuri Radix.
