ABSTRACT
Most internal hernias are acquired, due to abdominal adhesion or changes in abdominal anatomical structure after operation, which is a rare postoperative complication in clinic. Due to the lack of specific clinical manifestations, the preoperative diagnosis rate of internal hernia is low. If the treatment of internal hernia is delayed there may be intestinal ischemia and necrosis, short bowel syndrome and other disastrous consequences. Therefore, attention should be paid to the prevention of internal hernias after abdominal surgery. Combined with the literature and experience, the author will introduce several common measures and methods for the prevention of internal hernias after abdominal gastrointestinal surgery.
