ABSTRACT
Human adenovirus is one of the common pathogens of respiratory viral diseases in children.Adenoviral infections are epidemic, endemic, or sporadic, commonly detected in infants and children under 5 years old.The main serotypes that cause adenovirus pneumonia include types 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 19, 21 and 35.Serotypes 3, 7, 14, 21 and 55 lead to more severe adenovirus pneumonia, which can be fatal and possibly cause permanent damage such as bronchiolitis obliterans to the lungs of some patients, thus affecting the quality of life of patients. Therefore, early diagnosis as well as rational and effective treatment is essential for improving the prognosis of children with adenovirus pneumonia. In this paper, the pathogenic diagnosis and antiviral therapy of adenovirus pneumonia in children were discussed.
