ABSTRACT
There have been a number of changes in the technic of cataract extraction, so much so that the percentage of improved results (visual) have been outstandingly high. We consider a visual acuity of less than 20/100 a failure. Basically, the newer technics have made cataract extraction safer, so that operation may now be carried out in those whom the risk of surgery in the past constituted a reason for postponementFrom this series, we have noted the following: 1. That with the use of ACT and a good hypotony, we can do more intracapsular cataract extractions with less difficulty, less operative complications and better visual results2. With more direct sclero-corneol suturing (5-6), we can have less post-operative complications, early ambulation, less nursing procedures and duration of stay can be brought down to a minimum. (Conclusion)
