O significado do envelhecimento e do cuidado para o idoso hospitalizado e as possibilidades do cuidado de si / The meaning of aging and care for the hospitalized elderly and the possibilities of self-care

RESUMO

Trata-se de estudo de natureza qualitativa, que teve como objetivo conduzir processo de convergência, cuidado cultural-investigação junto aos idosos hospitalizados de modo a criar condições favoráveis ao cuidado de si. Os participantes foram dez idosos, que se encontravam internados numa policlínica de um hospital universitário de grande porte de Curitiba- PR. A coleta de dados ocorreu no período de agosto a outubro de 2006. A pesquisa foi aportada no referencial metodológico proposto por Trentini & Paim (1999; 2004), concernente à Pesquisa Convergente-Assistencial (PCA) e o Modelo de Cuidado Cultural proposto por Leininger. As informações foram coletadas por meio de entrevistas realizadas junto aos idosos, leituras dos seus respectivos prontuários e observações advindas dos comportamentos dos mesmos. As entrevistas foram compostas por questões abertas, sendo posteriormente analisadas pela técnica do Discurso do Sujeito Coletivo (DSC), indicada por Lefèvre & Lefèvre (2003). Cada questão deu origem a uma ou mais idéias centrais Questão 1 - Qual o significado do envelhecimento para o sr(a)? Idéia Central A O envelhecimento é um ciclo natural da vida; Idéia Central B É triste, porque se perde o "pique" e a saúde. Questão 2 - O que significa se cuidar? Idéia central A Significa cuidar bem da saúde e ter paz; Idéia central B Cuidar da alimentação, do sono. Questão 3 - Quem cuida do sr.(a)? Idéia Central Minha família e Deus. Questão 4 - Como o sr.(a) se cuida? Idéia Central A Cuidando da minha saúde; Idéia Central B Distraindo a mente. Questão 5 - O que é doença? Idéia Central É a pior coisa que existe, é um atraso de vida, que tira o ânimo, é muito triste. Questão 6 - O sr.(a) realiza algum hábito que considera maléfico, não "faz bem" a sua saúde? Idéia Central Sim. Fumo; às vezes como o que não posso comer. Questão 7 - Quais os cuidados que você realiza quando não está doente? Idéia Central A Me alimento bem, durmo bem, não faço serviço pesado; Idéia Central B Quando não tô doente, tenho muito mais alegria. Idéia Central C Não me cuidava muito quando não estava doente; Questão 8 - Quais os cuidados que você realiza quando está doente? Idéia Central Sigo as normas das enfermeiras e médicos e peço a Deus que me sare. Questão 9 - Como irá se cuidar após receber alta? Idéia Central A Vou cuidar da minha aparência, alimentação, ficando perto dos filhos, netos e amigos; Idéia Central B Vou tentar não fumar mais. Foram realizadas ações de cuidados de enfermagem, utilizando como subsídio teórico o nível 4 do Modelo do Sol Nascente, proposto por Leininger (1991), que compreende as decisões e ações de cuidado de preservação e/ou manutenção, acomodação e/ou negociação e repadronização/ou reestruturação do cuidado cultural.

ABSTRACT

This study is of qualitative nature that had as objective to lead convergence process, together care cultural-inquiry to the aged hospitalized in order to create conditions favorable to the care of themselves. The participants had been ten aged ones that if they found interned in a polyclinic of a big University Hospital of Curitiba - PR. The study was developed in the period from August to October of 2006. The study was based on the methodology of the Convergent Research of Assisting (PCA) proposed by Trentini & Paim (1999; 2004) and the Leininger's Cultural Care Model. The information had been collected through interviews made together to the aged ones, readings of them respective handbooks and observations about them behaviour. The interviews had been composed for opened questions, being later analyzed for the technique of the Speech of Subject Collective (DSC), indicated for Lefèvre & Lefèvre (2003). Each question origins one or more central ideas Question one What is the meaning of the aging to your? Central Idea A The aging is a natural cycle of the life; Central Idea B It's sad because of loses of the motivation and the health. Question two What it means if to take care of yourself? Central Idea A It means to take care of the health and to have peace. Central Idea B It take care of the feeding, sleep. Question three Who do take care of you? Central Idea A My family and God. Question four How do you take care of yourself? Central Idea A It taking care of my health. Central Idea B It distracting the mind. Question five What's ilness? It's the worst thing that there is, it's a life delay, it takes off the spirit, it's very sad. Question six Do you have any habit that consider bad to your health? Central Idea Yes, I smoke; sometimes I eat that I can't eat. Question seven Which are the cares that you have when you aren't sick? Central Idea A I feed me well, I sleep well, I don't make heavy job. Central Idea B When I'm not sick, I feel myself more joy. Central Idea C I didn't take care myself when I wasn't sick. Question eight Which are the cares that you make when are sick? I follow the norms of the nurses and doctors and ask for the God cure me. Question nine How will you take care yourself when be discharged? Central Idea A I'll take care of my appearance, feeding, being close to the children, grandsons and friends; Central Idea B I'll try don't smoke anymore. Actions of cares of nursing had been carried through, using as theoretical subsidy level 4 of the Sunrise Model, considered for Leininger (1991), which understands the decisions and action of care of preservation and/or maintenance, room and/or negotiation and make new standard/or reorganization of the cultural care.
