Cucurbitaceae endémicas del Perú

RESUMEN

La familia Cucurbitaceae es reconocida en el Perú por presentar alrededor de 27 géneros y 110 especies (Brako & Zarucchi, 1993; Ulloa Ulloa et al., 2004), todas ellas bejucos y lianas. En este trabajo reconocemos 23 especies endémicas en siete géneros. Un género, Guraniopsis, es endémico del Perú. Las Cucurbitaceae endémicas ocupan varias regiones, tales como Desierto Semicálido Tropical y Matorral Desértico, entre los 150 y 2400 m de altitud. Se aplicaron las categorías y criterios de la UICN a 10 especies. Ninguna especie endémica se encuentra representada en el Sistema Nacional de Áreas Naturales Protegidas por el Estado.

ABSTRACT

The Cucurbitaceae are represented in Peru by around 27 genera and 110 species (Brako & Zarucchi, 1993; Ulloa Ulloa et al., 2004), all of them vines and lianas. Here we recognize 23 endemic species in seven genera. One genus, Guraniopsis, is endemic to Peru. Endemic species are found in several regions, as Subtropical Costal Desert and Desert Shrubland, between 150 and 2400 m elevation. We applied IUCN categories and criteria to 10 species. None of the species have been registered within Peru's protected areas system.
