Educação reprodutiva em escolas públicas do ensino fundamental / Reproductive education in public elementary schools

RESUMO

A Adolescência é um período crítico e importante para aMedicina Preventiva. O presente trabalho descreve umaexperiência de um Programa Educativo desenvolvido comadolescentes de 10 a 15 anos de idade de escolas públicasda cidade de João Pessoa – Paraíba. A faixa etária dosadolescentes correspondeu da 5ª a 8ª série do EnsinoFundamental. O objetivo geral foi fornecer informaçõesdentro do conteúdo curricular de reprodução Humana,intencionando a Prevenção da Gestação Precoce. Apesardo sucesso do Programa foram detectadas muitas limitações,destacando-se 1) Deficiência do conteúdo de ReproduçãoHumana das Escolas; 2) Desinteresse e Desmotivação dosProfessores; 3) Necessidade de Acompanhamento; 4)Deficiências na Infra-estrutura das Escolas e do setor deExtensão da Universidade. A principal recomendação foi aconstrução de estratégias de Prevenção da GestaçãoPrecoce envolvendo autoridades públicas, as escolas e asfamílias.

ABSTRACT

Adolescence is a critical and important period for PreventiveMedicine. This paper describes the experience of anEducative Program with adolescents from 10 to 15 years oldin public schools in the city of Joao Pessoa – Paraiba –Brazil. The age group of adolescents corresponds to 5th to8th grades of Elementary Schools in Brazil. The generalobjective was to offer information into the curricular contentsof Human Reproduction, intending for the Prevention ofPrecocious Pregnancy. Although the program was successful,there were several work restrictions. Detachable restrictionswere 1) Deficiency in the Human Reproduction contents inthe schools; 2) Teacher’s Disinterest and Lack of Motivation;3) Follow-up of the Program; 4) Structural Deficiency of theSchool and Extension Sector of the University. The mainrecommendation was to develop Precocious PregnancyPrevention strategies involving Public Authorities, schoolsand families.
