O debate da Educação Física na saúde: aspectos históricos e aproximação à saúde pública / The debate of Physical Education in health: historical aspects and approach to public health

RESUMO

Este ensaio procurou defender a tese de que as produções teóricas da educação física avançaram rumo a um possível amadurecimento científico no âmbito de sua inserção na saúde pública. A articulação com a saúde coletiva foi o principal elemento constituidor dessa maturidade teórica. O texto enseja essa ideia por meio da recuperação das raízes históricas da relação entre a educação física e saúde e a apresentação de seu debate crítico, que pauta o afastamento de uma intervenção na saúde centrada num viés ercadológico em prol de vê-la como um direito social.(AU)

ABSTRACT

This theoretical text defends the thesis that theoretical studies about physical education advanced toward a possible scientific maturity within its inclusion in public health. The articulation of physical education with public health is pointed as the main constitutive element of its theoretical maturity. The text entails this idea by recovering the historical roots of the relationship between physical education and health, as well as by presenting it in critical debate, which defines the space of health intervention not focused on a marketing bias, but in favor of seeing it as a social right.(AU)
