RESUMEN
Introducción:
En este artículo se describe el manejo del dolor durante el trabajo de parto en las gestantes que asisten al curso de preparación para la maternidad y paternidad responsable en el centro de salud Girardot. Materiales yMétodos:
Estudio serie de casos, de corte transversal, se trabajó una muestra por conveniencia conformada por nueve maternas que asistieron al curso de preparación para la maternidad y paternidad responsable y un grupo control de nueve madres que no asistieron a este curso; se utilizó una ficha sociodemográficas que permitió medir las características de las maternas y la encuesta de escala categórica del dolor de Hiskisson (1974).Resultados:
A la aplicación de la escala categórica del dolor, el grupo de casos escribieron subjetivamente la intensidad del dolor en la siguiente forma; Poco en la primera etapa el 55.5%, en la segunda etapa el 77.7% y en la tercera etapa el 88.8%; Bastante en la primera etapa el 44.45%, el 22.22 % en la segunda etapa y el 11.11% en la tercera etapa. Respecto al grupo control las mujeres gestantes describieron el dolor sujetivamente en la intensidad de Mucho en la primera etapa el 77.78%, en la segunda etapa el 55.55%y el 33.33% en la tercera etapa; Bastante intensidad del dolor el 11.11% en la primera etapa, 44.45% en la segunda etapa y 55.56% en la tercera etapa; finalmente el 11.11% refirió sujetivamente el dolor como Poco en la primera y tercera etapa no describiéndose esta característica en la segunda etapa. Discusión yConclusiones:
En el grupo de casos describieron subjetivamente poca intensidad del dolor, en la primera etapa de dilatación y Borramiento. En el grupo control las mujeres refirieron sujetivamente mucha intensidad del dolor en la primera y segunda etapa.ABSTRACT
