Dados, fatos e falas: histórias contadas sobre saúde e trabalho / Data, facts and speeches: narratives on health and work

RESUMO

Este estudo busca delinear uma relação entre saúde e trabalho (processos de saúde-doença e processos de trabalho), através da interação entre informações de bases quantitativa e qualitativa, identificadas nos dados histórico-documentais, epidemiológicos e sócioeconômicos; nos fatos históricos e culturais e nas falas de trabalhadores do espaço social agrário de Lumiar e São Pedro da Serra, distritos de Nova Friburgo - RJ. Esta região - colonizada por suiços e alemães a partir de 1819 - se estrutura em um cenário composto por pequenas propriedades; diferentes categorias de produtores; utilização de mão de obra familiar; inexistência de mecanização; utilização abusiva e irregular de agrotóxico e adubação química; inexistência de práticas de conservação do solo e de assessoria técnica permanente; ciclo de produção baseado no desmatamento, na queimada, no plantio, na rotação de cultura e no pousio, por três anos em média; redução importante na produção nas últimas décadas; um aumento no setor de serviços devido ao turismo e; uma situação socioambiental em conflito, por se localizar em área de tombamento (Mata Atlântica).Os processos saúde-doença e de trabalho se estabelecem, então, enquanto relação e mediadores recíprocos, através da análise das informações referentes às condições de vida e de trabalho neste espaço social e histórico. Este estudo busca demonstrar a indissociabilidade entre dados, fatos e falas, na construção da relação saúde e trabalho que se manifesta por meio de processos destrutivos e processos protetores ou saudáveis.

ABSTRACT

The purpose of the author of this study is to outline/delineate a relation between health and work (health-disease processes and working processes), by means of interaction of quantitative and qualitative informations, identified in historical-documentative, epidemiological and socioeconomic data, in historical and cultural facts and in the speeches of workers of the agrarian social space of Lumiar and São Pedro da Serra, districts of Nova Friburgo, RJ. Colonized by swiss and german immigrants since 1819, this region structures itself in a scenery composed by small properties; different categories of producers; utilization of familiar hand-labor; inexistence of mechanization; abusive and irregular utilization of pesticides and of chemical enrichment of the land; inexistence of soil conservation process and of permanent technical assistance; production cycle based upon deflorestation, burn, planting, upon crop rotation and resting of the land for three-years in average and an important decrease in the production in the last decades, along side an increase in the field of services, due to tourism, in midst of a socioambiental conflict, for the land is situated in a legal reserve area (Atlantic Forest). The relation and intermediation of healt-disease and working process are thus evinced through the analysis of informations concerning the conditions of life and work in this social and historical space. This study seeks to demonstrate the indissolubility between data, facts and speeches in the construction/building of the relation between health and work, relation that makes it self manifest through destructive and protective, or healthy processes.
