Gênero: dimensão contemplada no Bolsa Família? / Gender: contemplated dimension in the Bolsa Família?

RESUMO

O objetivo deste artigo é suscitar a discussão da proteção social no âmbito da garantia de renda mínima condicionada, vocalizando o papel desempenhado pelo Programa Bolsa Família nas assimetrias de gênero e promoção da cidadania. Por meio de estatísticas descritivas, comparativas do grupo de beneficiários com não beneficiários pobres, investigou-se a dimensão de gênero com base na PNAD 2006. Concluiu-se que o programa, ao incentivar o uso dos serviços de saúde e educação, tem potencial de promoção de cidadania, mas o programa reforça estereótipos que associam a mulher à provisão de cuidados e bem-estar na família.

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this article is to evoke the discussion of social protection under the conditional minimum income guarantee, vocalizing the role of the Bolsa Família Program on gender asymmetries and promoting citizenship. Through descriptive and comparative statistics of the group of beneficiaries with nonpoor beneficiaries, investigated the gender dimension based on PNAD 2006. It was concluded that the program to encourage the use of health services and education has the potential to promote citizenship, but that the program reinforces stereotypes that associate women with the provision of care and well-being in the family.
