ABSTRACT
The clinic in Mental Health takes as fundamental tool the differential diagnosis. It is what allows the approach to any possible treatment. This instrumental characteristic is not devoid of ethical challenges that merit reflection. The risk of misapplication of their categories or of their abuse entails damage that goes beyond the simple "error" of prognosis and treatment of the person consulting. Thus, the purpose of this work lies in the reflection on the ethical dilemmas that the misuse of the diagnosis carries on the users of mental health at present from the contributions of Ricoeur with its definition on the ethical intentionality. The reason is to be able to extend the horizon of the diagnosis of a mere tool to complex it as a dialogical instance that, by reference to the other, demands responsibility in the same consequences that implies its use.
