RESUMO
O estudo objetivou descrever a mortalidade de mulheres em idade fértil na região de saúde de Guanambi, no período de2003 a 2012. Trata-se de uma pesquisa descritiva, com abordagem quantitativa, realizada através de dados obtidos no Sistema de Informação de Mortalidade (SIM), disponibilizados pelo Departamento de Informática do SUS (DATASUS),referentes aos óbitos de mulheres com idade de 10 a 49 anos na região de saúde de Guanambi/BA, entre os anos de2003 a 2012. As mulheres na faixa etária dos 40 aos 49 anos (22,6%), com 1 a 3 anos de escolaridade (43%), solteiras(46,4%) e da cor/raça parda (46,8%) foram as que mais morreram; as causas externas (17,4%), doenças do aparelho circulatório (17,1%) e neoplasias (15,4%) prevaleceram como principais motivos desses óbitos. Os coeficientes de mortalidade materna permaneceram oscilantes, variando entre 18,05 e 138,07 mortes maternas por 100.000 nascidos vivos. A sub-informação e o sub-registro dificultaram a real dimensão desse problema na saúde das mulheres desta região, assinala-se a necessidade de investimento em ações direcionadas a redução da mortalidade evitável
ABSTRACT
The study aimed to describe the mortality of women of childbearing age in the health region of Guanambi from 2003 to2012. This is a descriptive research, with a quantitative approach, per-formed through data obtained from the Mortality Information System (SIM), made available by the Department of Informatics of SUS (DATASUS), referring to the deaths of women aged 10 to 49 years in the health region of Guanambi / BA, between 2003 and 2012. Women in the age group of 40 49 years (22.6%), 1 to 3 years of schooling (43%), single women (46.4%) and brown color / race (46.8%)were the ones who died the most; (17.4%), diseases of the circulatory system (17.1%) and neoplasias (15.4%) prevailedas the main reasons for these deaths. The maternal mortality coefficients remained oscillating, varying between 18.05and 138.07 maternal deaths per 100,000 live births. Underreporting and underreporting have made the real dimensionof this problem difficult for the health of women in this region, it is necessary to invest in actions aimed at reducing prevent-able mortality
