ABSTRACT
A two-year gender-based study was conducted from January 1995 to December 1996 at the Institute of Skin Diseases, Karachi. A total of 233 patients of Cutaneous Leishmaniasis were identified [108 in the first and 125 in the second year] The disease was most common in adult males [86.7%], followed by the sub-adult males [9.0%]; whereas, the intensity in adult females and sub-adult females was 3.9% and 0.4% respectively. The sores were mostly observed on face, arms and feet
