Intrathoracic manifestations in patients suffering from parasitic infection

ABSTRACT
14 cases [1%] were selected out of 1385 patients attending the outpatient clinic of chest and tropical diseases of Al-Zahraa hospital, on the basis of having positive urine or stool for parasites, symptoms of chest troubles or showing suspecious X-ray findings. Investigations done revealed that among the studied 14 cases; 7 suffered from pulmonary amoebiasis, 4 from pulmonary bilharziasis, 2 from pulmonary echinococcosis and one from pulmonary toxoplasmosis. So chest physician must put in mind parasitic infections when dealing with chest cases
