ABSTRACT
20 samples of raw eyes each of cattle, buffalo and camel were examined bacteriologically. The obtained results revealed that the mean value per grams of aerobic plate count were 7.2 x 10[6], 2 x10[6] and 1 x 10[6], of cattle, buffalo and camel eyes respectively. Enterobacteriaceae count were 4.4 x 10[4], 4.5 x 10[3], 9 x 10[2] while coliforms [MPN] were 5.7 x 10[2], 8.1 x 10[2], 3.3 x 10[2] /gm of examined cattle, buffaloe and camel eyes respectively. The public health significance of isolates, camels samples were less suspected to contamination than those of cattle and buffaloes; the probable source of eyes contamination and suggestive measures to avoid health hazards were discussed
