The authors analyse 159 cases of genital endometriosis. Adenomyosis was present in 18,2% of surgical samples and represented 79,2% of the lesions in genital endometriosis. This disease, in 67,2% of cases, affected women between 35 and 50 years of age. External, intra-peritoneal endometriosis affected young women [20 - 30 years] and was more frequent in ovary. The most frequent site of adenomyosis was the body of the uterus, and it was rarely associated with external, intraperitoneal endometriosis [6,9%]. But it was frequently associated with another gynecologic affection [61% of cases]. All the 3 pathogenic's hypothesis can be suggested
