Central acinic cell carcinoma of the mandible

ABSTRACT
An extremely rare case of acinic cell carcinoma occurs central in the mandible was found in 23 year old man. From clinical and radiological examination a provisional diagnosis of ameloblastome was made. By histological examination diagnosis of acinic cell carcinoma was confirmed. The tumor consisted of nests of acinic cells completely encapsulated. The acinic cell was well differentiated and uniform and contain small centric hyperchromatic nucleus. Mitiotic activity was minimal. No evidence was found to substantiate an intercalated duct cell or excretory reserve cell is origin of this tumour
