ABSTRACT

Morocc endowment in hydro-mineral wealth is distributed in four regions [essentially the southern Rif and the middle Atlas regions], and is comprised of more than a hundred sources with widely varying characteristics. The major part of these resources lie within a one hundred kilometer radius of the prestigious city of Fez. There are numerous positive factors in favour 'of the development of Moroccan spas with a characteristic flavour of religious and traditional customs all their own. The combination of age-old tradition and a willingness towards scientific modernization should contribute towards that harmonious synthesis of tradition and innovation so characteristic, even in many other fields, of development in contemporary Morocco
