Double patella: case of duplication in the horizontal plane

ABSTRACT

A case of duplication of the patella in the horizontal plane is reported. Previously reported cases of double patella have shown frontal, horizontal or coronal duplication, and some have been associated with multiple epiphyseal dysplasia. In our case, the patient has suffered form patellofemoral joint pain for five years. Excision of smaller inferior patella has relieved the complaint
