ABSTRACT
Some biological aspects have been investigated in this study. Five acrylic resin denture base materials were evaluated and Empress ceramic material was used as an additional comparative material. An epimucosal test plate that was carrying the test specimens was placed into the patient's mouth and was left for a certain period of time. Results of surface hardness showed remarkable changes during the epimucosal test, both DBF pumice polished and DBF high shine polished seemed to be the most stable materials. The moistening behavior of all the tested DBF specimens increased in the moist environment to the same level and those of Paladon were shown to be environmental dependant. The highest value of bacterial accumulation was recorded by Paladon 65
