ABSTRACT
The present study was carried out on 80 consecutive patients with acute myocardial infarction [AMI] from intensive care unit of internal medicine department in Aleppo University Hospital and 20 healthy persons as control group, the prevalence of antibodies of Chlamydia pneumoniae IgG in AMI patients is 77.5% and 5%, the prevalence of antibodies of Chlamydia pneumoniae IgG in control group 60% and IgM is 0%. It may be a true relationship between Chlamydia pneumoniae immunoglobulin G [IgG] antibodies and acute myocardial infarction, because it is possible for Chlamydia pneumoniae immunoglobulin [IgG] and increased levels of Fibrinogen to play role as independent risk factors for acute myocardial infarction especially in male. Therefore we recommend performing Chlamydia pneumoniae immunoglobulin [IgG] and Fibrinogen Assays in acute myocardial infarction patient
