Problems of impacted teeth retrospective study of 1620 cases

ABSTRACT
A total of 1620 impacted teeth in 1244 patients were studied clinically, radiographically and 59 enlarged tooth follicles were studied histologically the results of the retrospecture clinincal analysis reveals that males comprised 61.4% of the patients while 38.60% were females. The mandibular third molars are the most frequency impacted teeth [670%] followed by maxillary canines [11.50%], maxillary third molars [7.60%] then maxillary centeral incisors [3.40%]. Among the problem which caused by the impacted teeth are infections [57.21%], caries [19.80%], pathological resorption [6.2%], enlarged follicular space [3.60%], association with cysts [1.90%]. The results of the histological studies of the enlarged tooth follicles provide a broad spectrum of histopathological appearance normal sac, hyperplastic changes, developing cysts and dentigerous cysts
