Of thesc 243 were Saoot dippers, Of the Saoot dippers, 26 subjects showed severe mucosal changes that can be called leukoplakia and may be considered as precancerous, shile 5 subjects exhibited frank invasive squamous cell carcinoma. It could be concluded that prilonged Saoot dipping, specially when the mouth is not rinsed following each dipping results in mucosal changes that may give rise to precancerous and frankly malignant lesions
