Review on effective aerobic, resistive and local exercise protocols for abdominal circumference reduction

ABSTRACT
Obesity especially abdominal obesity is a serious health concern. Central obesity or abdominal obesity is related to chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes type2 and all cause mortality. Physical activity and exercise could provide weight reduction and reduce some chronic diseases. In the many studies the effect of aerobic and resistance exercise on weight loss was discussed. However, the best exercise program for abdominal circumference or central fat reduction is unknown. The purpose of this study was to investigate the existing evidence about exercise protocols for central fat reduction. The effect of aerobic and strength training on abdominal fat reduction was compared. In this review article, a general overview of the exercise therapy of abdominal obesity, including aerobic exercise, resistive training and abdominal exercise for general practitioners and specialists has presented
