Reconstruction of the palate using pectoralis major myocutaneous flap

ABSTRACT

The functional deformity following removal of the maxilla is considerable. Rehabilitation used to be very difficult with prosthesis or traditional flaps. Pectoralis major myocutaneous flaps have been used for reconstruction following hemi maxillectomy. Three cases are presented to illustrate the use of pectoralis major myocutoneous flap following partial removal of the maxillae at a Le-Fort I Level
