ABSTRACT
Twelve male patients with completely dentulous maxillary arches against mandibular bilateral distal extension ridges were selected for this study. The mandibular bicuspids were splinted and used as abutments for intra-control precision attachment retaining mandibular bilateral distal extension removable partial dentures. Patients were classified into two equal groups. The male portion in one group was physiologically relieved to allow some rotational freedom of the free end bases during function. The effect of this relief on abutment mobility and marginal bone resorption was investigated. The results of this study revealed that physicologic relieving of intra-control precision attachment significantly minimized the abutment marginal bone resorption after two years of study
