ABSTRACT

Arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy [ARVC] is a rare genetic disorder characterized by fatty degeneration of the right ventricular myocardium with variable involvement of the left ventricle. The condition is associated with exercise-mediated ventricular tachycardia and is one of the recognized causes of sudden cardiac death in the young and in athletes.
