ABSTRACT
Oto-acoustic emission are sounds emitted by the cochlea as a response to a stimulus probably based upon contraction characteristics of the outer hair cells. We are end ebbed to D.T. KEMP who discovered and applied this clinical examination. In 1978, he showed that the cochlea is able to emit sounds either spontaneously or as a response to a stimulus. This examination is simple, quick, non-traumatic, objective and allowing a net examination of the cochlea function. The clinical interest of this examination is unanimous in children mainly in the detection of deafness
