Heterophyids: experimental chemotherapy and immunotherapy

ABSTRACT

Heavy infections with the tiny flukes heterophyids can cause intestinal pain and mucous diarrhea, thus the study of praziquantel [Pzq] and the new drug cyclosporin A [CsA] as antiparasitic drugs, were undertaken in this work, as well as the effect of matecercarial and adult antigens as immunizing agents. To assess the result of the work, the number and length of the recovered heterophyids were studied.
