Proton magnetic resonance assay of ketoprofen in capsules

ABSTRACT

A simple, rapid and efficient new quantitative PMR method has been developed for the determination of ketoprofen and its dosage form [capsules]. The method is based on comparison of the integral of the methyl signal or the aromatic protons signal of ketoprofen with that of the sharp singlet of maleic acid [at 6.5 ppm] used as internal st and ard. The proposed method gave accurate, precise and reproducible results, which were comparable with those obtained by the official titrimetric BP 1980 method:
