Abdominal trauma: a review 101 cases

ABSTRACT
One hundred and one [101] cases of abdominal trauma were managed in a period of three years. The majority of the patients had stab followed by blunt trauma and gun shot injuries. The small intestine was to commonest viscus to be injured followed by colon and stomach. The overall mortality was 25%. Mortality in stab injuries was much more [33%] than blunt trauma [5%]. The commonest cause of death was sepsis followed by haemorrhage and renal failure
