ABSTRACT
Two independent analytical procedures have been described for the evaluation of fluvoxamine in bulk and in tablets dosage from. [i] An isocratic reverse-phase high-performance liquid chromatographic technique which involves the use of micro Bondapak-C18, 30 cm x3.9mn i.d., column and a mobile phase composed of 80% v/v CH 3 CN+20% v/v CH 3 COONa [0.01M] buffer adjusted to pH3.5 with CH3 COOH.[ii] Kinetic study at 30 and 40 degrees of temperature for the charge-transfer complexation reaction between fluvoxamine maleate and chloranil in ethanolic aqueous solution buffered to pH9 [borate], has been undertaken. The rate constant, k, the relevant thermodynamic activation parameters, namely, arrhenius activation energy, E, free energy change, delta G, enthalpy change, delta H and entropy change, delta S, have been calculated. The interpretation of these parameters for the complexation reaction is discussed
